Job Summary:
A registered nurse (RN) position is available in an Orthopedics & Spine Specialty unit located in Overland Park, Kansas. The role involves providing patient care on a fast-paced medical-surgical floor within a busy Level 2 trauma center. Candidates are required to bring their Kansas nursing license on the first day. This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week, with day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.
Job Details:
- Position: Registered Nurse – Orthopedics & Spine Specialty
- Location: Overland Park, Kansas
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (may vary slightly)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Kansas nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, acute care hospital experience on medical-surgical or telemetry units, experience with Meditech electronic medical record, NIH certification (preferred)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic injury, neurological conditions including stroke and head injuries, trauma, and familiarity with mobile communication tools such as mobile heartbeat (iMobile)
- Additional Information: The unit recently expanded from 26 to 36 beds and uses innovative communication technology to enhance team collaboration and patient privacy. The facility maintains a very low RN turnover rate and has seen increasing employee engagement annually. Staff checks out an iPhone 7 for use with the iMobile program to facilitate communication within the team.
