Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) care is sought for a trauma Medical Surgical unit located in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves providing attentive and compassionate patient care within a busy trauma med/surg environment. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day. The position starts on July 20, 2026, and offers a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends every four weeks.
Job Details:

- Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license, BLS certification, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes, Meditech electronic medical record experience, no minimum years of experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) units, trauma experience, certification in comprehensive stroke or ACS verified Level II trauma center, certified chest pain center
- Additional Information: The unit has tech support on day and night shifts, including a unit secretary from 7 am to 7 pm. Equipment used includes IV pumps, telemetry monitors, sequential compression devices (SCDs), continuous pulse oximetry devices, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology. The unit emphasizes compassionate patient care with bedside shift reports and family inclusion in care plans.
- Float: Float rotation may be required based on staffing needs, following a rotation when multiple contract labor staff are scheduled.
