Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Floor Nurse position is available in HILO, Hawaii. This role involves providing patient care within a medical unit utilizing Meditech Electronic Medical Records (EMR), pyxis medication systems, wound vacs, and chest tubes. Candidates are required to bring their Hawaii license on the first day. This position is on a rotating night shift schedule, with a 13-week contract, that follows the first full week of orientation, requiring flexibility with shift lengths and days.
Job Details:
- Location: HILO, Hawaii
- Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, following first full week of orientation, with various shift lengths and days
- Required Qualifications: Hawaii licensure, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), 0-10 years of experience in a medical surgical environment, relevant certifications and qualifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience specifically in a medical surgical setting.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit.
- Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before start to attend employee health appointment on Friday. Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved religious or medical exception is required prior to contract start date.
- Responsibilities include providing patient care in a medical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 for days and evenings, and 1:8 for nights, utilizing designated equipment, and adhering to department-specific training and orientation programs.
