Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse position located in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role involves caring for postsurgical patients, including orthopedics and general surgery, with a focus on neuro populations. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. The position offers daytime shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS certification from AHA, RN license in the state of employment or a compact license, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred, one year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred, travel experience highly preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: EPIC experience is a bonus

- Additional Information: Responsibilities include providing routine and complex nursing care, using the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, administer medications and treatments, monitor side-effects and effectiveness, document patient information, and provide education to patients and families. The nurse must be capable of working independently and demonstrating clinical awareness. The nurse may be required to work weekends based on scheduling needs. No call requirement is specified.
