Job Summary:
The state of Washington – Silverdale is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a Birthing Center/Mother Baby Department in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing patient care for obstetric and postpartum patients, attending deliveries independently, and circulating in cesarean sections. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 2 years of RN experience; certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); must have Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience; comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in cesarean sections; experience assisting with catching babies and transitioning newborns; willing to wait for license submission. Candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered if they have multiple prior travel experiences.
  • Experience or 'Must Have' Skills: Skilled in attending deliveries independently, circulating in cesarean sections, assisting with newborn catching and transition; comfortable with titrating drips such as magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin.
  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Additional Information: Schedule includes rotating with permanent staff, with orientation consisting of an 8-hour compliance class and 2-3 additional 12-hour shifts for unit-specific training. The unit operates with in-house OB/GYN/hospitalist, neonatologist, anesthesia, and NICU staff available 24/7, along with tele-monitoring and electronic fetal monitoring systems.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required between mother-baby and postpartum units, excluding the NICU.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights, Saturday and Sunday days).
  • Holiday Requirements: Rotations with permanent staff.
  • Call or Standby: Standby response time of 45 minutes when required.
  • Dress Code: Scrubs provided with a locker available.
  • Additional notes: The manager values quality work and constructive feedback, requiring adaptability to workflows and policies.
