Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse position is located in Seattle, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care in a high-risk, high-acuity maternity environment. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day. The position requires a minimum of three to five years of experience, with at least two years in a high-paced, high-acuity setting. Applicants must have current supervisory references and proof of required certifications.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; minimum of 48 hours per week. The schedule is posted every six weeks and designated to meet unit needs.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, 3-5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with at least 2 years' experience in a high acuity and high pace environment. Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required. Experience with Epic electronic health record system is necessary.
  • Preferred Qualifications: AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate certifications are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience with high-risk obstetrical care, including assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries, neonatal assessments, and maintaining obstetrical patient safety protocols.
  • Additional Information: The unit encompasses high-risk/volume labor and delivery with four operating rooms, requiring skills in fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric emergencies. The role involves functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, caring for the newborn until transfer to postpartum, and providing comprehensive postpartum and antepartum care. The patient census averages 15 per day, with 500-600 deliveries monthly. Candidates may float to sister facilities supporting obstetric care.
