Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse — Richmond, Virginia
The organization is seeking a Labor and Delivery Nurse for a Maternal Infant Unit. Responsibilities include providing care for laboring patients and supporting childbirth services, including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum patients, and newborn and post-partum care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Start Date: 06/22/2026
- Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of labor experience; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) fetal monitoring certification; license required (must be brought on the first day).
- Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of labor experience with a history working in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting with high birth volumes.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care related to vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum patients, newborn care, and post-partum care.
- Participates in weekend and on-call coverage: every third weekend with 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule.
- Uses fetal monitoring equipment and Meditech electronic medical record systems.
- Dress code: navy blue scrubs (infant security badge requirements apply as outlined by the unit).
