Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse — New Braunfels, Texas
The organization is seeking a competent Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse to provide routine and complex nursing care in a similar clinical setting. This role independently applies the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—while supporting patients and families with increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with 36 hours per week minimum
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred); RN License in state of Texas or compact; Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA) only); Current certification: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM); Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA only); Successful completion of New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire; completion of annual competency verification requirements
- Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty; Perinatal RN Residency or recently practicing in a perinatal setting; Current certification option through AWHONN or NCC for electronic fetal monitoring
- Additional Information: Patient ratio is 1:2 for Labor and Delivery (L&D) and 1:6 (3 moms/3 babies) for postpartum
