Labor And Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse — Issaquah, Washington

The Labor and Delivery role at the healthcare provider’s unit supports care across labor/delivery, pre-operative and post-operative settings, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), based on the assigned skill set. Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries, performing required clinical procedures and monitoring needs, and providing patient-focused support during triage and routine labor processes. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights shift; 12 shift hours; minimum 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Fetal/Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Intermediate Women’s Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN Intermediate), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
    • Education Requirements: Not specified
    • Degree Requirements: Not specified
    • Experience Requirements: 2 years of experience required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit responsibilities include circulating for C-section, recovery of C-section, sterile vaginal exams, triage of obstetrical patients, and attending deliveries (including high-risk deliveries).
    • Clinical skills and procedures include administration of blood/blood products, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, epidural anesthesia, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, anticoagulation-related medication support, pain assessment and management, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), use of PCA and syringe pumps, epidural pump support, wound assessment/care, and wound vac management.
    • Additional specialized support includes use of intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration, couplet care, transition nursery support, and participation in relevant obstetric and gynecologic surgical support.
    • Float: Float rotation may be required for Post-Partum and NICU based on skill set.
