Job Summary: Labor And Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) — Henderson, Nevada
A Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery Department is needed to provide independent and confident care for vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, high-risk laboring and delivery patients, and antepartum patients. The role includes circulating and recovering C-section patients and floating as needed to postpartum and other units. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights (eow), first to float; 12 hours per shift; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA))
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (American Heart Association (AHA))
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Experience: minimum 2 years
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Orientation to the unit will be 3 days for travelers
- Nurses submit self-scheduling requests via the TEAM scheduling system; schedule is balanced by a scheduling committee of NSMs
- Weekend requirements: every other weekend; holiday requirements: as needed
- Charge nurse/house supervisor takes an assignment only if nurses are at maximum capacity and no additional staff are available
- Nursing titration of drips is required (Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin)
- Required ability to effectively read fetal monitor strips; no tele-monitor techs are required
- Electronic fetal monitoring system: Cerner
