Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D/PP) | Buckhannon, West Virginia
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to support Labor & Delivery and Postpartum (L&D/PP) services in an acute care setting. This role includes caring for patients across labor and postpartum needs, with required competency in fetal monitoring and neonatal support. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour days; minimum 36 hours per week
  • Shift Details: 0645–715 (typically 4 RN staff during the day and 3–4 at night; weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled)
  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide nursing care for labor and postpartum patients in a unit that is strictly L&D/PP
    • Support patient needs for a range of gestational ages and clinical scenarios (including readiness for varying gestational ages and related perinatal therapies)
    • Use fetal monitoring skills and maintain required clinical standards for care delivery
    • Participate in unit orientation, primarily completed on the unit over 2–3 shifts with a preceptor
  • Required Qualifications:
    • RN license (license copy to be included with submission)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • COVID vaccination requirement (fully vaccinated per facility standard)
    • Submission requirement: a copy of the candidate’s unexpired driver’s license must be included with all submissions
    • Location requirement: Buckhannon, West Virginia
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience circulating Cesarean sections (as unit needs may require circulating support if the operating team is not yet in place)
    • Comfort floating to MedSurg or Emergency Department as “helping hands” if experience and comfort meet unit needs
  • Additional Information:
    • At least 2 weekends per month are required, with weekend nights considered Friday/Saturday and weekend days considered Saturday/Sunday
    • Potential to be placed on call due to low census or higher census needs
    • Work into the permanent staff holiday rotation
    • Unit orientation is primarily delivered on the unit over 2–3 shifts with a preceptor
