Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery is needed in Bemidji, Minnesota. This position involves providing compassionate care to postpartum, antepartum, and newborn patients, with responsibilities expanding to Med-Surg overflow as needed. Candidates must bring their license on the first day and possess a minimum of two years of OB and labor and delivery experience. The role requires flexibility with variable shifts, including day and night rotations, and working weekends.

Job Details:

  • Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
  • Shift: 12-hour variable shifts, day/night rotation, includes weekends, with every third weekend off
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; active Minnesota (MN) state registered nurse license; two years of OB and labor and delivery experience; experience with EPIC One Chart electronic medical record system; ability to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units.

  • Float: Float rotation may be required, primarily assisting in unit tasks, with occasional management of Med-Surg patients.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes equipment and unit training on the first day; clinicians are required to badge in and out at the facility. The nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN standards: 1:3 mom/baby couplets, 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients, and 1:3-4 pediatrics. The unit has a trauma level 3 designation and utilizes EPIC One Chart for charting. The position involves working in an acute care setting with a flexible schedule, including weekends. Candidates must specify if they have prior employment experience with the organization, noting that those with previous employment must have an end date at least six months prior to submission.
