Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse — Bellefontaine, Ohio

The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse will provide age-appropriate patient care for labor, postpartum, and nursery patients, including head-to-toe assessments and ongoing reassessments. The role includes assessing and managing patient pain, developing and revising individualized plans of care, coordinating interdisciplinary needs, and maintaining safe care environments. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Shift: Nights; 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • License: Active Ohio (OH) or compact license at time of submission
    • Certifications (must be through American Heart Association (AHA) and active at time of start): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • Education: BSN (preferred)
    • Experience: 1 year of Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience (required); postpartum and nursery experience (required)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • BSN degree
  • Additional Information:
    • Possible weekend coverage is required
    • Annual competencies must be performed and maintained
    • Annual competency for bedside blood glucose waived testing must be performed and maintained
    • Demonstrated ability to: develop and revise plan of care; follow the five medication rights; formulate teaching plans based on learning needs; perform technical and manual skills; remain within the scope of licensure and seek guidance beyond scope; coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary; communicate professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members; maintain documentation in line with current standards and policies; operate equipment safely and correctly; and function flexibly and effectively in stressful situations
