Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves providing specialized obstetric and neonatal care within a high-risk antepartum and high-risk labor and delivery unit. Candidates must bring their Alaska RN license on the first day. The assignment starts on July 20, 2026, and requires working nights (12-hour shifts). Experience in labor and delivery nursing is preferred, with a minimum of 1 year of related experience, although recent graduates with no experience are also considered.
Job Details:
- Shift: 3x12 Night shifts
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska RN license (must have license in hand for auto offer), BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced certifications, NRP, and Epic charting system experience. No minimum experience required, though 1 year preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience or willingness to train as charge, exposure to high-risk OB, neonate assessment skills, and ability to float within scope to meet facility needs if necessary.
- Schedule: Night shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting on 07/20/2026.
- Additional Information: The unit handles approximately 100-200 births monthly, with an influx of high-risk obstetric patients and third-trimester testing patients. Responsibilities include administering blood products, assisting with high-risk deliveries, epidurals, sterile exams, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum care. The RN must be willing to work certain major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) and submit references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years.
