Job Summary:
The Anchorage, Alaska, based Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for providing high-quality obstetric and neonatal care in a high-risk antepartum and postpartum unit. Candidates are required to bring their Alaska RN license on the first day of shift. The position requires a current license in hand for auto-offer eligibility. The assignment is scheduled to start as soon as possible and will last for 13 weeks, with a schedule of 3x12-hour night shifts per week.

- Required Qualifications: Current Alaska RN license (license must be in hand for auto-offer), BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) Intermediate and Advanced certifications, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, Epic charting system experience, and ability to provide 2 references covering 1 year (or 6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience or willingness to train as charge nurse.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP.
- Additional Information: Must have your Alaska RN license in hand for property approval. The candidate must be willing to work major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
- Unit Information: The high-risk L&D unit handles approximately 100-200 births per month, including inductions and antepartum care. It features 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 operating suites, and 4 PACU rooms.
- Special Procedures and Skills: Assistance with high-risk deliveries, sterile speculum exams, neonatal resuscitation, use of fetal monitoring equipment, infusion pumps, sterile procedures, and post-op care. Experience with obstetrical procedures like cervical cerclage, cesarean section, and VBAC management is preferred.
- Floating Scope: May float within scope to other units as needed.
- Additional Requirements: Must have completed or be willing to complete required modules, submit two references, and provide documentation of certifications.
- Holidays: Willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
