Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized care within a fast-paced acute care environment, with a focus on neuro, cardiac, and trauma patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Springfield, IL
  • Position / Specialty: IMCU/Intermediate Care Unit RN
  • Shift: 3x12 Days (0645-1915)
  • Schedule: 36 hours minimum per week, 12-hour shift hours
  • Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; active Illinois license; minimum 1 year of clinical experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, or similar units.
  • Preferred Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • Float: Will float as needed within scope to meet facility needs.
  • RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
  • Special Requirements: Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, management of post-cardiac and neuro surgical patients, ventilator care, and various IV therapies.
  • Facility & Patient Care: Acute care hospital level I trauma center with 562 beds; fast-paced unit with high patient throughput; patient age group: Adults; daily census: 34.
  • Unit Equipment & Procedures: Tracheostomy management, ventilator care, cardiac and neurological assessments, wound care, and rapid response team utilization.
  • Staffing & Scheduling: Self-scheduling; patient ratios of 1:4; support staff including PT, respiratory, radiology, and pharmacy.
  • Additional Information: Must be able to take tracheostomies with ventilators. Comfortable with high patient volumes and fast pace.
