Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Surgical (ICU SURGICAL) Registered Nurse position is available in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This role involves providing critical care to post-operative open heart patients, with a focus on cardiac patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions. The position requires a highly skilled HCP (Health Care Professional) with experience in cardiac critical care and the ability to respond to rapid and code blue situations.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Start Date: 07/13/2026
- Required Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications; Cardiac critical care experience; Ability to care for post open heart patients for 1-2 days post-operation; EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system use (Meditech); Willingness to float to other units within the facility as needed; Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month.
- Preferred Qualifications: CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification is a plus.
- Additional Information:
- Participative scheduling; management reserves the right to adjust staffing to fill gaps at the time of submission.
- Must float to other units in the facility as required.
- Nurses are expected to explain care and medications and treat patients with courtesy and respect.
- Unit has standard critical care equipment, including Impella heart pump, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- The designated critical care staff respond to rapids and codes.
- Dress code: Navy scrubs.
- Travelers are subject to float policies.
