Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at a Level I Trauma Center. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day. The position entails working in a dynamic environment that may include floating to ICU, Stepdown, and Telemetry units based on facility needs.

Job Details:

  • Address: Honolulu, Hawaii
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Active, unencumbered Hawaii RN license required to apply
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
    • EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required
    • Two (2) or more years of full-time staff RN experience in a Neuroscience ICU at a Level I Trauma Center required
    • Must pass EKG exam with 80% or better during orientation
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN), Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN), or Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) highly desired
    • Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) and others such as TNCC and CPI (or equivalent) preferred
    • CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience highly desired
  • Additional Information:
    • Travelers may be floated to ICU, Stepdown, and Telemetry units based on facility needs
    • Compliance must be completed no later than 10 days prior to the contract start date; failure to do so may delay or cancel the assignment
    • Temporary assignments are available for 48 hours if needed
    • If not needed on their primary unit, RN candidates may be assigned as nursing assistants or safety sitters, with the expectation to perform those roles
