Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) — Lynchburg, VA. The Neuro Intensive Care Unit RN provides direct patient care for individuals with neurological diagnoses, supporting both surgical and medical needs. Responsibilities include delivering bedside care during 12-hour night shifts, with charge responsibility potentially required and appropriate training provided. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), with a minimum of 48.0 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience
- Minimum clinical experience of 2–3 years
- COVID and flu vaccination status required (vaccinated or approved declination)
- Preferred Qualifications: Teaching hospital experience.
- Additional Information:
- Start dates: 07/13/2026 and 07/27/2026 (orientation occurs every other Monday).
- Expected weekend requirement: 2–3 weekends per month per unit.
- Charge responsibility may be required.
- Neuro ICU unit care may involve vital sign equipment, glucometer use, sequential compression devices (SCDs), bladder scanning, vein finding assistance, remote telemetry capability, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, and tube feeding pumps (Kangaroo), as well as oxygen delivery devices.
