Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit, Indianapolis, Indiana. This position provides intensive care nursing for patients with complex conditions, including sepsis, respiratory failure, substance abuse disorders, endocrine disorders, and psychiatric disorders. The role requires comprehensive assessments, care of septic and mechanically ventilated patients, and management of hemodynamic monitoring devices in a collaborative, flexible, and empathetic team environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week; schedule includes every Saturday and Sunday plus a third weekday.
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse qualification; minimum of 2 years of intensive care experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; comprehensive assessment skills; experience caring for septic patients; experience caring for mechanically ventilated patients with hemodynamic monitoring devices.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- The intensive care unit has 30 beds with patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3.
- Clinical equipment includes Alaris pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, and EV 1000.
- Orientation includes first-day learning modules and unit-based orientation.
- Navy scrubs are required; hoodies and non-organization sweatshirts are not permitted.
- A positive attitude, flexibility, empathy, and teamwork are expected.
