Job Summary:
The organization is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a critical care unit located in Florence, Alabama. The assigned shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Candidates are required to bring their professional license on the first day of employment. The role involves managing adult and geriatric patient populations within a fast-paced environment, with a focus on critical care skills and effective communication.
Job Details:
- Location: Florence, Alabama
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), proficiency in nursing skills including IV starts, blood draws, NG tube placements, ECG rhythm interpretation, lab and ABG interpretation, critical care drips and titrations, ventilator management, arterial lines, chest tubes, Central Venous lines (including Large-Volume Vas Caths), assisting physicians with bedside procedures and conscious sedation, and effective communication with patients and families. Must have 5 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a teaching hospital, high-acuity ICU management of advanced devices such as CRRT, IABP, arterial sheaths; experience in SICU, MICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, and PCU/Med-surg units.
- Additional Information: The unit features advanced monitoring equipment including SpaceLabs bedside monitors, various ventilators, Prismaflex CRRT machines, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and other critical care devices. The EMR system used is Meditech. The team works with adult and geriatric patient populations with diverse diagnoses including respiratory failure, strokes, cardiac events, septic shock, and post-operative care.
