Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse — Cortez, CO
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to administer patient care in an efficient, safe, and courteous manner for patients requiring intensive care services. The role includes applying evidence-based nursing standards, using telemetry and advanced monitoring knowledge, documenting care accurately, and collaborating with the healthcare team to support patient-centered outcomes. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Associate degree required; graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado (compact license accepted, with Colorado License required within the first 90 days of hire); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required within 6 months of hire, excluding FBC); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within 6 months of hire); successful completion of EKG course required within 4 months of hire; ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and writing); basic computer knowledge; strong organizational skills; excellent customer service skills; active listening skills; strong communication skills; confidentiality required
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of 1 year ICU/inpatient experience preferred; additional languages preferred
- Additional Information: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) role duties include understanding and interpreting basic arrhythmia information and telemetry monitoring; administering nursing care in accordance with nursing standards of practice and organization policies and procedures; supervising non-professional staff as assigned; assisting physicians; utilizing electronic medication administration record (EMAR) processes (including scanning medications and armbands); participating in resuscitation drills and ongoing education; ensuring safety and infection control standards are followed; meeting unit-specific responsibilities associated with ICU and related care areas
