Job Summary:
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) position available in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Corpus Christi, Texas. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to independently provide routine and complex nursing care for high-acuity patients, including those recovering from post-cardiothoracic surgery and requiring advanced devices such as IMPELLA, Balloon Pump, Artic Sun, TABLO XT/CRRT, and management of multiple comorbidities and drips. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 7PM - 7AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred), 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty (preferred), current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only), current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA only), RN License in the state of Texas or a compact license
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-cardiothoracic surgery recovery, post-OR patient care, and familiarity with devices such as IMPELLA, Balloon Pump, Artic Sun, TABLO XT/CRRT; previous Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience is preferred
  • Additional Information: The role involves managing high acuity patients with multiple comorbidities and complex clinical conditions, utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse must address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs, administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, and provide patient and family education. All new experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire, and success in competency validation is required.
