Job Summary:
This cardiovascular surgical ICU registered nurse (RN) position is located in Rochester, Minnesota. The RN is responsible for coordinating comprehensive nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This role supports professional nursing practice within a highly specialized adult cardiac surgery and heart/lung transplant intensive care unit.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 36 hours per week, with shifts including Day/Night Rotation (0700-1930 and 1900-0730) and Straight Nights (1900-0730). Every 3rd weekend work is required, and floating may be necessary as needed.
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Minimum education includes being a student or graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). At least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting within the last five years is required if graduated from non-accredited programs or if graduation was more than two years ago. Two years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience required; cardiovascular ICU experience preferred. Certifications include ACLS and BLS; current certificates must remain valid through the assignment start. Preferred qualifications include CCRN certification and experience with ventricular assist devices (VAD), Impella, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), or balloon pumps.
  • Additional Information: An ECG exam is required during orientation and must be passed to continue employment. The position involves highly specialized adult cardiac surgery and heart/lung transplant intensive care with advanced postoperative management responsibilities.
