Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) position in Johnson City, New York, specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Cardiovascular. The role involves providing high-level patient care, managing complex cardiac cases such as CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, and stroke patients undergoing thrombectomy or tissue plasminogen activator (TNK). Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on critical patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Location: Johnson City, NY
  • Schedule: 12 nights, 36 hours per week, every 3rd weekend
  • Required Qualifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse License; BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross); 6 months to 3 years of nursing experience, including experience with intensive cardiac patients (CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, normothermia, stroke thrombectomy/TNK, ICU overflow); graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Skills & Experience: Collaboration, communication (verbal & written), judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning (organizing, time management), problem solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous clinical experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting; CCRN certification; relevant skills certifications such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC as required by the home unit.
  • Additional Information: Clinical responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care; administering medications safely; supporting unit operations; participating in professional development and evidence-based practice; and performing duties related to charge nurse or shift coordinator roles when assigned.
