Job Summary:
An Intensive Care Unit Burn (ICU Burn) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves providing specialized critical care for adult and pediatric burn trauma patients with injuries such as flame, scald, electrical, chemical burns, inhalation injuries, necrotic ischemia, and necrotizing fasciitis throughout the continuum of care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, at least 0 years of relevant experience, appropriate educational background
- Additional Information: The RN will provide primary adult and pediatric burn trauma critical care, including invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV drip titration, nurse-driven burn fluid resuscitation following the Parkland formula, ventilator management, continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH), hourly pulse and flap doppler checks, initial debridement and dressing changes, conscious sedation, surgical recovery, and management of epidural pumps. Nursing care ratios are 1:2 for critical care patients, with 1:1 support for burn trauma code 1 admissions, high acuity, and post-operative patients.
