Job Summary:
An ICU Registered Nurse (RN) is sought for a position in a mixed cardiac and medical intensive care unit located in Alexandria, Louisiana. The role involves providing high-quality critical care to patients with conditions such as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), acute respiratory failure, myocardial infarctions (MIs), coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs), and ventilator management. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of orientation.
Job Details:
- Location: Alexandria, LA
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; BLS certification from AHA required; ACLS certification from AHA required; RN License in state of employment or compact; 0 years experience required, with 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred; current ACLS certification and BLS certification required.
- Certifications: BLS from AHA required; ACLS from AHA required.
- Experience: 1 year of experience in a critical care setting preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
- Shift: 7AM – 7PM, full-time position
- Additional Information:
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- On-call requirement: none
- Floating requirement: no floating
- Nurse/patient ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients in the ICU
