Job Summary:
The organization is seeking three experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to work in a mixed cardiac and medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Alexandria, Louisiana. The position requires candidates to provide high-quality patient care independently, demonstrating a strong understanding of critical care nursing practices. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Position: Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
- Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: RN License in the state of employment or compact, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred), BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required, ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required, 0 years of experience (new graduates acceptable)
- Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in the related nursing specialty or critical care setting preferred
- Patient Population: DKA, Acute Respiratory Failure, Myocardial Infarctions, Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts, Ventilators, among others
- Nurse/Patient Ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients
- Additional Notes: No blocked scheduling, every other weekend requirement, no on-call duties, no floating to other locations
- Responsibilities: Providing routine and complex nursing care, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations, administering medications and treatments, assessing patient needs, providing education to patients and families, documenting care, and ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
