Job Summary
Emergency Room — Iowa. The position provides emergency nursing care in a rotating 12-hour schedule with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The role requires clinical expertise in emergency infusions, ventilatory support, cardiac monitoring, and intravenous pump use, along with the ability to float across campuses when needed.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 24 months of Emergency Room experience; active Iowa license; active Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification; active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications, with American Heart Association (AHA) certification preferred; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; demonstrated experience with critical emergency infusions, including pressors, antiarrhythmics, and sedation; experience with BiPAP or ventilator support, cardiac monitors, and intravenous pumps.
- Preferred Qualifications: Active Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB), Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB), or Safe Management of Aggressive and Assaultive Behavior (SAMA) certification; AHA-issued certifications preferred, with American Red Cross or United States military certificates also accepted.
- Additional Information:
- Willingness and ability to float across campuses when needed or scheduled.
- Weekend work may be scheduled.
- Work may be required during one or two of three upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.
- First-time travelers are welcome with at least 24 months of Emergency Room experience.
