Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse - Hopewell, VA. This full-time night shift position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a 22-bed ER unit with approximately 50 staff members. The role requires delivering swift, patient-centered treatment with a focus on critical procedures and effective teamwork.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification. Candidates must demonstrate strong IV skills for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma experience, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification, Meditech electronic medical record experience.
- Responsibilities: Perform procedures including cardioversion, central line placements, cardiac arrest interventions, IV insertions, EKGs, pacemaker interrogation, and following protocols such as Code Stroke and Code Sepsis. Assist with suture or abscess setup as needed.
- Additional Information: Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, be team players, energetic, professional, and maintain high attendance. Flexibility to potentially float to a closely located FSED may be required. The unit emphasizes a respectful, patient-focused environment with adherence to clinical policies.
