Registered Nurse, Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) — Hyannis, MA
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) delivers direct patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role administers and monitors patient responses to medications, documents nursing activities and patient assessments throughout admission and discharge planning, and supports coordinated care by communicating relevant assessment data to allied patient care providers. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating shifts; 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Must read, write, and communicate in English; Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); completion/passing of CCHC Pharmacology Exam (pass prior to start date) and CCHC Basic Arrhythmia Exam (pass prior to start date); demonstrated skills in I.V. administration and telemetry monitoring; lead apron required; understands, assumes, and demonstrates proficiency in the charge nurse role; proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems); willingness to participate in nursing committees; participation in at least four-unit staff meetings yearly and mandatory programs; role-based responsibilities including teaching and orientation of staff and serving as a resource person regarding patient care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Current Cardiovascular interventional nursing experience within the last 5 years; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN); Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN).
- Additional Information: On-call is required for off-shift, weekends, and holidays. Intra-aortic balloon pump course (IABP) is required. Acute Cardiac Unit/Stepdown (post-procedure monitoring and management of patients following cardiac interventions such as PCI, ablation, pacemaker/ICD insertion, and TAVR, including vasoactive medication management). Maintains confidentiality and upholds hospital policy and safety standards, including adherence to blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
