Job Summary: Harrisonville, Missouri — Physical Therapist Assistant (SNF). The physical therapist assistant will utilize evidence-based practice to provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions for patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a physical therapist. Responsibilities include administering therapeutic procedures, documenting and communicating patient progress, and supporting the rehabilitation plan in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 shift hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensure when applicable; and at least 1 year of PTA experience; LTC (Long-Term Care) or Rehab experience.
- Additional Information:
- Provides rehabilitative treatment interventions under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic modalities, as well as use of supportive and assistive devices.
- Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments; reports treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provides consultation and counseling to patients and families/caregivers related to physical disorders, as appropriate.
- Communicates effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist and other members of the health team regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
- Supports discharge planning by providing input to the supervising Physical Therapist for discharge summaries of services provided.
- Documents regulatory- and clinically-required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to policy, including accurate treatment minute recording.
- Participates in required meetings (e.g., patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings) and required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
- Collaborates with the supervising Physical Therapist to obtain necessary DME (Durable Medical Equipment) or supplies as required.
- Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
- Practices in accordance with APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) standards and applicable state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
