Job Summary
Physical Therapist Inpatient (PT IP) — This position is based in the inpatient setting and involves providing comprehensive physical therapy services to patients referred by the healthcare provider. The role includes assessment, treatment plan development and implementation, discharge planning, and supervision of related staff and students, contributing to department operations and quality improvement efforts.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education, and Experience: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited college or university in the area of physical therapy is required. Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure and BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) are required. No prior professional experience is required.
  • Schedule: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 8 hours per day, full-time, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities: Performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to determine the physical and cognitive status of inpatients and outpatients, develops and implements individualized treatment plans with measurable goals, and ensures documentation complies with department policies. Participates in care conferences, family education, discharge planning, and departmental activities including orientation, scheduling, and supervision. Acts in accordance with department policies, supports performance improvement activities, and fosters professional relationships within the medical community.
  • Additional Information: Demonstrates adherence to core organizational values and participates in research activities, community education, and clinical supervision. Ensures patient care responsibilities are performed in a manner that meets age-specific and developmental needs, and appropriately adapts methods to the individual's condition.
