Physical Therapist Inpatient (PT IP) — Richmond, Virginia

The Physical Therapist Inpatient (Rehab Therapy) position supports patient rehabilitation in an inpatient setting, with responsibilities focused on stroke evaluation and treatment and providing comprehensive neuro-focused therapy. The role requires strong hospital-based experience and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days; Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, plus weekend rotation; 10 shift hours; minimum 40.0 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Physical Therapist Inpatient experience in a hospital setting (minimum 2 years in a hospital setting required); license required (to be brought on the first day)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Hospital and inpatient rehab experience; stroke evaluation and treatment
  • Responsibilities: Perform stroke evaluation and treatment and provide inpatient rehabilitation services; deliver manual therapy for neuro re-ed; provide therapeutic exercise, functional activity, and neuromuscular re-ed; support self-care and functional e-stim activities; follow patient experience standards using AIDET communication and immediate service recovery
  • Additional Information: The rehab therapy setting is staffed with 10 OT/PT teams, 3 speech therapists, and 1 tech. Patient ratios are 4:1. Equipment includes Sara Lifts, Ceiling Lifts, Bioness, and Diego. Documentation is completed in Meditech Expanse. Floating to an acute hospital may be required if rehab census is low.
