Job Details & Requirements

Job Summary: Physical Therapist (Inpatient), Clovis, New Mexico. This role evaluates and treats patients through a wide variety of therapeutic interventions to rehabilitate physical and developmental disorders. Responsibilities include designing and overseeing comprehensive rehabilitation programs, coordinating with other care disciplines, and supporting discharge goals throughout the episode of care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift (8 hours per shift), with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy
    • New Mexico Physical Therapy (PT) license
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to understand the rules and regulations of the specific setting
    • Knowledge of the principles of growth and development
    • Ability to design rehabilitation programs
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification completed through American Heart Association (AHA), American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
    • Inpatient and outpatient experience
    • At least one year of Pediatric Physical Therapy (Peds PT) experience if working with pediatric patients
    • At least one 13-week previous travel assignment
    • Two (2) years current experience in the specialty
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Electronic Prescribing, or a related Electronic Medical Record system (EPIC); can train on-site.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Evaluate and treat pediatric patients from birth to 18 years old and address motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, and gait
    • Conduct interviews with children and family members and use physical examination to diagnose movement-related disorders
    • Demonstrate knowledge of physical therapy, including interpreting data to support clinical decision-making
    • Oversee and ensure a comprehensive rehabilitation program supports the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being
    • Promote patient and caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence
    • Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines or services involved in patient care
    • Coordinate efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during the episode of care
    • Advocate for patients
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community based care, and home health care
    • Float to adult units if needed if pediatric patient census fluctuates
