Job Summary
Pharmacist, Inpatient. The position provides comprehensive pharmacy services, including medication order preparation, drug therapy monitoring, clinical consultation, and medication education. Responsibilities include supporting safe and effective medication use across intensive care, emergency, behavioral health, cardiac, and orthopedic care settings.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Current state pharmacist licensure required; licensure in the assigned state required. Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Schedule: Day and evening shifts are available, with 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM; 40 hours per week. Rotating weekends are required.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include preparing and dispensing sterile and nonsterile medications, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition; verifying medication orders; maintaining accurate medication records; monitoring for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and dosing concerns; supporting pharmacokinetic consultation and renal dosing; identifying adverse drug reactions; providing medication information and patient education; participating in medication-use review, quality improvement, antibiotic stewardship, opioid stewardship, and shortage management activities; attending interdisciplinary rounds as assigned; and supervising pharmacy support personnel. The role may involve exposure to hazardous or toxic substances, including chemotherapy and cytotoxic medications, as well as biological materials and sharps. Navy blue scrubs are required.
