Pharmacist Inpatient in Massachusetts. This role involves working collaboratively with the Clinical Trials Pharmacy (CTP) team to dispense research medications for clinical trials and ensure compliance with protocol guidelines. The position demands attention to safety, medication handling, and regulatory adherence within a dedicated pharmacy unit.
Job Details
- Required: Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with start times possibly earlier than 8:00 am and finish later than 4:30 pm, not exceeding 5:30 pm. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Acts as a liaison between CTP and compounding units, overseeing safe medication preparation and handling of investigational sterile and non-sterile medications.
- Reviews protocol documents, drafts dispense instructions, and participates in sponsor monitoring visits and audits.
- Ensures medication orders conform to approved research protocols and reviews new protocols and amendments for drug safety and feasibility.
- Oversees technician activities and conducts quality control checks.
- Provides drug information to healthcare professionals and reviews patient medications for appropriateness and interactions.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws related to investigational drugs.
- Reviews new protocols and drafts dispense instructions, supporting a culture of safety and adherence to departmental policies.
- Acts as a clinical liaison within the department to facilitate research activities.
