Job Summary
Perfusionist – PROF – Location unspecified. This role involves providing advanced perfusion services for complex cardiac, thoracic, and liver transplant cases, including ECMO support and intraoperative management. The position requires operational expertise in various surgical procedures within a Level 1 Trauma facility, supporting a wide range of specialized surgeries and transport services.
Job Details
- Certifications: ABCP - American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Certification and Tennessee Clinical Perfusionist License
- Education: High school diploma or college degree required for CAPS certification
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of perfusion experience, with at least 1 recent year in a Level 1 Trauma facility; experience in operating POC devices preferred, with no minimum experience requirement specified
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a start time of 6:30 AM, working 40 hours per week
- Responsibilities include covering cardiac cases such as CABG, valves, adult congenital, dissections, and complex aortic procedures, as well as supporting lung transplants on ECMO, ECMO transports, and managing in-house ECMO support 24/7. The role also involves providing services for TAVRs, LLE in CL/EP, mechanical thrombectomies, HIPEC cases, and sporadic vascular procedures.
- Additional operational duties include responding to all ECMO cannulations, decannulations, circuit manipulations, and transport, but do not include bedside pump management.
- The selected candidate must be able to operate POC devices and be prepared to cover any case regardless of complexity at any time.
