Job Summary
Pathology Assistant – Nashville, TN. This role involves providing patient-focused care through the examination of surgical specimens and the timely completion of surgical case reports independently. The position requires accurate gross dissection to support microscopic diagnosis and other duties that adhere to all approved protocols.
Job Details
- Certifications: Certification with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s, with Pathologist’s Assistant (PA) (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification on file at the time of submission.
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
- Location Requirements: Nashville, TN.
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience preferred; 0 years minimum required.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Responsible for the accurate performance of gross dissection to support microscopic diagnosis and other duties in a manner that complies with all approved protocols. Utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assure accurate and reliable clinical outcomes. No excessive time off, and all time off must be on submission. IVS to interview and manager to offer. Vanderbilt requires all travelers to have complete COVID vaccine series or a valid exemption by start date. No exceptions.
