Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician — This position supports surgical procedures in an acute care setting, with responsibilities that include operating room scrubbing and preparation for cardiovascular and open-heart cases. The schedule consists of weekday day shifts with rotating call coverage.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 10 hours per shift, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with rotating call coverage.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 2 years of experience; at least 1 year of open-heart experience; operating room scrubbing experience.
- Additional Information:
- Supports cardiovascular surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic valve, mitral valve, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement cases.
- Call coverage may be required for up to 50% of shifts and weekends, with a 30-minute response time.
- Surgical technicians have access to provided operating room scrubs.
- The surgical department includes six operating rooms and one hybrid operating room, with approximately 20–30 cases per day.
