Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician: Experienced surgical technician responsible for providing technical support to the surgical team in the operating room and sterile processing areas. The role includes preparing and maintaining sterile instruments and supplies, supporting surgical procedures, and ensuring proper sterilization and decontamination practices.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) with a minimum of 5 years of current surgical technician experience; registration as a surgical technician with the State of Colorado.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Provides technical support during surgical procedures by arranging supplies and instruments, maintaining accurate counts, passing sterile instruments and supplies, assisting with dressings, and preparing and preserving specimens. Operates sterilizers and performs tests to validate sterilization, verifies the sterility of packaged supplies, decontaminates surgical instruments, checks instruments before procedures, and ensures equipment remains in proper working condition. The role requires adherence to aseptic practices, anticipation of procedural needs, supply inspection and restocking, and the ability to work effectively under stressful conditions while standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
