Job Summary: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Tech — ORT (Jackson, Michigan)
The Surgical Technologist is responsible for handling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for general surgical procedures, ensuring clear understanding of the assigned procedure and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. The role also supports patient preparation and transport and assists the surgical care team with patient care duties to promote safety and comfort. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift; 12 shift hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of strong recent Surgical Technology (ST) experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA); current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification; previous travel experience; High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred, not required).
- Additional Information: 13-week contract length with potential to extend.
