Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Surgical Technician (Operating Room Technician) for a position located in the designated healthcare facility. This role involves supporting the surgical team by ensuring a sterile environment, preparing operating rooms and instruments, and assisting surgeons during procedures. The Surgical Technician will work under supervision and contribute to system-wide surgical operation initiatives and safety practices.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, from 0645 to 1915, Monday through Friday, with weekend call and holiday shifts required.
- Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months, or two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years; and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety.
- Demonstrates knowledge of surgical services, sterile processing, sharps and fire safety processes, and sterilization requirements.
- Has experience supporting surgeries within the surgical team and responding appropriately in emergency situations.
- Has experience in sterile field management, sterilization processes, and supervision within surgical services within the scope of surgical technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active National Certification as an Operating Room Technician in Surgery or Certified Surgical Technologist.
Additional Information
- Experience of at least 2 years in surgical support and 1 year of scrubbing experience is preferred.
- On call required during weekends.
