Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician, ORT. The position supports surgical procedures and operating room activities in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include providing surgical technology support for general surgery cases, with additional experience in trauma and specialty surgical services preferred.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a surgical technology, operating room technician, or comparable training program.
- Association of Surgical Technologists Certification (NBSTA), or evidence of completion of a surgical technology program for candidates without certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/Health Care Professional (HCP) cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification valid for the duration of the assignment.
- Three or more years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Operating Room Technician in a large academic medical center with Level I trauma designation.
- General surgery experience.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in trauma, orthopedics, gynecology, ear, nose, and throat, neurological, and cardiac surgical services.
- Additional Information:
- The role supports surgical services within a Level I trauma environment.
- Candidates may be assigned to operating room cases involving general surgery and other specialty procedures based on organizational needs.
