Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician position in Rochester, Minnesota, involves performing delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient. The role includes preparing and delivering surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment, as well as cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining inventory. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Rochester, MN
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Overtime may be required as needed; no weekends or call responsibilities.
- Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED; Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST) within 18 months of hire; must be 18 years of age prior to start date; certifications include CBSPD or CRCST.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prefer two years of experience in handling and sterilization processing of surgical, medical, or dental instrumentation within the past four years; or at least two years of experience as a Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant in an acute care setting within the past five years.
- Additional Information: Proficiency in operating autoclaves, washer disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners; ability to adapt to unpredictable perioperative situations; effective and compassionate communication skills; frequent lifting of 25 pounds or more.
