Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician, Sterile Processing Tech. This position is responsible for decontaminating, processing, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instrumentation and medical equipment. The role also includes assembling case carts, supporting multiple sterile processing areas, and participating in weekend, on-call, and minor holiday coverage as needed.
Job Details
- Assignment Dates: 11/27/2026–02/25/2027
- Schedule: Evening shift, 8 hours per shift, with a 3:00 p.m. start time and a minimum of 40 hours per week. Weekend and on-call coverage may be required, along with minor holiday coverage.
- Required Qualifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CR-CST) or Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification; 4–5 years of experience in a hospital setting involving the sterilization, decontamination, processing, assembly, storage, and distribution of surgical instrumentation, supplies, devices, and equipment; prior travel experience; ability to operate Olympus OER washers; ability to identify instruments and work while standing.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include decontaminating, processing, assembling, sterilizing, and storing surgical instrumentation and medical equipment; assembling case carts for surgical procedures; and rotating among all assigned central sterile and distribution areas.
