Job Summary:
Operating Room Cardiovascular Surgeon Technician (Open Heart) position in a healthcare facility. The role involves proficiently scrubbing open heart and cardiovascular cases, supporting surgical teams, and adhering to sterile procedures. The assignment is based on a contract for a fixed duration, with potential to support different departments as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in surgical technology, previous travel experience, certification following successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program or another programmatically accredited surgical technology program, and certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. All travel submissions must meet these experience criteria.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience scrubbing open heart and cardiovascular surgeries, ability to float to the main operating room or sterile processing department as needed, and experience working in a PWP (Proprietary and Privileged) facility.
- Additional Information: The role requires constant supervision during surgical procedures, supporting teams by preparing the operating room, passing instruments and supplies, managing surgical equipment, and performing sponge and supply counts to prevent foreign objects. All candidates must be certified and capable of managing sterile fields during complex surgeries.
