Job Summary:
The operating room open heart (OR OH) technician position is located in Lubbock, Texas. This role involves supporting cardiovascular surgery procedures within a short-term acute care facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers an 8-hour day shift with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 8 hours daily, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Two years of consecutive experience in Cardiovascular surgery, current Compact nursing license, Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Surgery Technologist (CST), National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience within the last 3 months supporting open heart cases and ability to scrub heart valve or open heart procedures independently.
  • Additional Information: Must have at least 1 year of minimum experience, valid Compact license upon submission, and eligibility to work within a 50-mile radius. Candidates must have completed all required modules, including non-billable ongoing training hours. References are required covering one year within the last three years. Candidates are expected to work 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
  • Special Requirements: Must have experience in Cardiovascular surgery, including procedures such as Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Angioplasty/stenting, Aortobifemoral bypass, and open heart surgery. Recent cardiovascular case experience within the last three months is essential.
  • Unit Details: Support for complex cardiovascular procedures with specialized equipment and protocols. The role may involve working with hybrid operating rooms, endovascular repairs, and organ donation procedures.
  • Travel Experience: Required.
  • Certifications: BLS, CST, NBSTSA, ACLS.
  • Other Notes: Must have a Compact license in hand at submission. No acceptance of Nursys or background (BG) hits.
