Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart specialty position in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves supporting high-acuity cardiac surgeries, including open heart procedures such as valve replacements, CABG, and complex surgeries like aortic arch replacements and heart transplants. The position requires a highly experienced professional capable of working independently on complex cases within a Level 1 trauma center.
Job Details:
- Certifications/Licenses Required: BLS from the American Heart Association; ACLS preferred; Fire & Safety Certification required within 30 days if not already held.
- Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in high-acuity hospital settings, with at least 4 years in the operating room specialty including general, robotics, and complex cases (liver, heart, neuro). Experience in open heart surgery with open heart experience is mandatory; travel experience of 1+ years preferred, with prior involvement in high-volume, complex surgical cases.
- Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per shift, starting at 6:45am with potential early start; minimum 40 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Support surgeons in complex cardiac surgeries, solo scrub or circulate, with proficiency in a variety of procedures including valve replacements, CABG, intra-aortic balloon pump placement, and more.
- Location: Los Angeles, CA. Candidates should be adaptable in supporting high-volume cases, some requiring rapid ramp-up and problem-solving skills.
