Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart nurse in OR OH is responsible for providing specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery procedures, including cardiac transplants, vascular, thoracic, and general surgeries. The role involves preparing the operating room, assisting during surgeries, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative process.
Job Details
- Certifications: National Certification Required — 2+ years related work experience. American Heart Association – Basic Life Support Certificate.
- Education Requirements: Basic familiarity with computers and ability to navigate web-based applications.
- Location Requirements: No local travelers will be accepted (cannot reside within 50 miles from the facility).
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Experience in cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant surgery, vascular/endovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, thoracic robotics, and general surgery.
- Responsibilities include scrubbing cardiac and/or vascular surgeries, assisting with valve replacements and robotic procedures, providing patient care before, during, and after procedures, and maintaining compliance with clinical protocols.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise.
- Additional Information: Orientation is weekly (every Monday) barring a holiday. Candidates must provide available dates and times for interview at the time of submission.
